One Tree Hill – Episode 6-20 Review

Top Story

Finally, we are back in Tree Hill after another hiatus. While I was expecting a little more plot development and exciting stories, this episode wasn’t completely a wash.

Nathan is told to step it up by his coach and help his teammate transition to shooting guard. This other player, unsurprisingly, thinks he doesn’t need Nate’s help. Nate beats him in one-on-one and he starts to rethink the help.

Haley learns from Jamie’s teacher that a school for gifted kids is interested in Jamie. She and Nathan go to visit the school. Jamie tries to crack some jokes with the kids, but they don’t go over so well. The school doesn’t offer sports and Nathan clearly isn’t impressed.

Peyton is driving and listening to Mia’s new song, and then she gets hit by another car. What else could possibly happen to this girl? She has the worst luck in the history of all television characters. Seriously. Anyway, Brooke shows up at the hospital and Lucas tells her of Peyton’s condition. She tries to stay strong for Peyton, but it’s obvious she’s distraught while Peyton acts like everything is fine. Her car, however, is not. But, we see Lucas is determined to fix the Comet for Peyton. Cute.

Sam and Jack hang out and he is thinking about going to Charlotte to live with foster parents. Victoria who is back in town and bugging Brooke about the company barges in. “What is this a homeless shelter? Victoria tells Brooke the company is in jeopardy and Brooke doesn’t want to help her.

Mouth and Millie spend time in the city. He leaves. They sleep next to each other via computer, which is pretty ridiculous. In fact, I am OK with pretending they didn’t waste a good three minutes of screen time on these two.

Lucas is overprotective of Peyton and is keeping her in the house. Meanwhile, he breaks the news that the Comet is totaled. I can’t help but mention how feminine Chad looks in this scene. That v-neck shirt, the multiple necklaces and over-tousled hair did nothing for him. Anyway, Haley visits Peyton and promises to help Mia finish the album. They bring the music to Peyton since she can’t leave the house, which is sweet.

Nathan and Haley playfully argue about the school situation. Haley wants him to go, but Nathan doesn’t understand the no-sports thing. “This coming from a guy who got C’s,” she says. “Hey, they were C+’s and you were my tutor.” Love the banter.

Sam and Brooke argue about Julian. Brooke doesn’t really make sense and Sam calls her out and tells her she sounds like Victoria. Brooke still won’t admit she loved Julian and Sam is pissed.

Haley and Nathan apologize to each other and still haven’t come to a decision. Jamie tells them he wants to stay at his school. Oh and in a random unnecessary side story, Skillz is interested in Lauren, Jamie’s teacher, and Jamie tries to help him out.

Jack and Sam meet up at the diner to say goodbye while Victoria walks in. Sam tries to get through to her about how horrible she is, but actually makes a good point to Sam that at least she stuck around as a mother, even if she was bad at it. Sam meets Jack’s foster parents and they seem nice. She tells them that she is his girlfriend and kisses him goodbye. Victoria comforts her as she cries, which is weird and seems incredibly fake. All part of a plan if you ask me.

Brooke asks Peyton for advice, but Peyton tells her she already knows she’s going to help Victoria and all her old employees from losing their jobs. And she does, with 51 percent of the company as per her agreement with her mom. I am hoping this means she will have to travel a bit…perhaps to California to see someone.

Next week features Nick Lachey as he makes his debut. “Why?” you may ask. Good question. I guess we have to watch to find out…but hey, at least we don’t have to wait another month again. Stay tuned!
