Sony Pictures Announces a Glory Blu-ray Disc Release

“Ferris Bueller in the Civil War and Denzel Washington winning his first Oscar.” That should be on the Blu-ray cover art. In Edward Zwick’s sophomore feature, Glory, Matthew Broderick plays Col. Robert Gould Shaw, who led the first all-black volunteer infantry, and Washington as the escaped slave who joins the company. Based on the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, the 1989 film earned 5 Academy Awards nominations and won 3, including Best Supporting Actor and Best Cinematography. Also starring Morgan Freeman and Cary Elwes. Glory marches to Blu-ray on June 2nd.
