NWA Show Draws Over 800, Is Shut Down By Local Authorities

News

PWI’s Larry Goodman has news on an NWA Charlotte show being shut down by the police and fire department due to a lack of a fire alarm and sprinkler system. More than 800 people were in attendance, the promotion’s largest crowd ever, but everyone had a seat according to the promotion’s representative Jay Joyce.

The fire department allowed five matches, including the main event between Raven and Lodi, to take place before shutting the show down. Promoter JD Costello explained the situation to the crowd and the left in an orderly fashion, thankfully with no smart ass yelling “fire!” in the process.

The promotion is looking to make the best of the situation, admitting fans to their May 9th show for free if they attended the shortened show. They’ve also spun the situation in to the title of the show, “Three Alarm Hysteria.”
