The Office – Episode 5-24 Review

Shows, Top Story

Michael, Pam, and Ryan face the repercussions of client theft following their return to Dunder Mifflin. Outraged at Michael’s favoring of Pam and Ryan and the loss of clients to a receptionist and former temp, Dwight and the rest of the sales team decide to mutiny. Meanwhile, the reinstitution of casual Friday causes wardrobe malfunctions and an influx of complaints to Toby.

When Pam and Ryan retain the clients Michael stole from Dunder Mifflin, Dwight gathers the rest of the sales team–Stanley, Andy, and Phyllis–to conspire against Pam and Ryan. Michael decides to be more aggressive in his management style and attempts to stamp out the mutiny, but Dwight perseveres.

Michael expects an apology from sales staff for not following him to his own company, but Phyllis is genuinely betrayed that Michael refuses to give them back their original clients despite past urgings that they are a family.

After complaints from Angela, a disturbing show from Meredith, and being called a “blob of khaki” by Andy, Toby officially declares casual Friday a failure to the dismay of most of the staff.

To appease the sales team Michael ultimately gives the clients back to their original sales people, but Pam and Ryan no longer have enough clients for both of them to stay on staff. One of them will have to be let go. After consulting Jim, Michael decides to give the job to Pam and offers Ryan back his temp job.
