Bellator 5: Alvarez, Imada Advance

Eddie Alvarez won’t be facing Jorge Masvidal after all. Alvarez defeated Eric Reynolds to move into the Bellator finals, as he was expected to do. But Masvidal was upset in surprising fashion by Toby Imada. Masvidal dominated the fight standing through two-and-a-half rounds, picking Imada apart at will and seemigly biding his time until finishing the fight. Masvidal made a mistake, however, and Imada made him pay with a reverse triangle choke (pictured above) the likes of which I’ve rarely seen in mixed martial arts.
