WWE News: Two Interviews With Rhodes And Dibiase

News

PW Torch’s James Caldwell has highlights of Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes appearance on the Monday Night Mayhem radio show, which you can find here. They talk about working with family members Ted’s brother Brett is training in FCW now, and Cody anticipates working with Dusty soon), the possibility of a feud with the Colons over the tag belts, and why Manu washed out of their group (and WWE).

The Buffalo Times Joe Kirchmyer uses Dibiase and Rhodes as a study in contrast with two other sons of wrestlers. Michael and Dennis DiPaolo chose to follow their father, Buffalo native Ilio, in to his second profession of running a restaurant. Rhodes and Dibiase talk about what drew them to wrestling, while the DiPaolos talk about why they chose not to enter the ring:

“No one can really understand a wrestler unless you are a wrestler and in the business,” added DiBiase. “There’s a mystique that’s handed down from father to son and it’s absolutely incredible. I love what I do, and I look forward to going to work every day. How many people can say that?”

“My father suffered from separated shoulders and broken ribs from being thrown out of the ring, a hernia from lifting a 350-pound wrestler over his head, concussions from being thrown onto the floor, neck and back injuries from being body slammed, and he underwent eight ankle operations,” Dennis said. “The body can’t take that punishment six or seven days a week.”

Dibiase, who’s married, admits that his father tried to discourage him from entering the business and that he often wonder if injuries will cost him when he becomes a father.
