Welcome to the EC-Dub!

Tonight we are back to the original start time of 8:00 MST (10:00 EST).  This is going to take some getting used to.

Your hosts are Josh Matthews and Matt Striker.  We are in Pittsburgh, PA!

Evan Bourne is going to start us off tonight.  He heads down the ramp.  He’s going to go one on one with Tyson Kidd and here he comes with Natalya.

We recap Kidd’s win over Finlay last week.

Tyson Kidd (w/ Natalya) vs. Evan “Air”Bourne

Evan chant starts and they lock up.  Stalemate.  Chain wrestling and reversals ends with Bourne getting Kidd in a headlock on the mat.  Powered to the corner and Kidd gives him a knee on the break.  He gets a headlock of his own and brings Bourne to the mat.  They’re back up and Kidd to the ropes.  Leap frog.  Kidd tries to leapfrog as well but Bourne grabbed the ropes and gave a dropkick.  Kidd takes him down and hits some punches.  Throws Kid to the outside.  Bourne gets distracted by Natalya.  Kidd tries to hit from behind but Bourne catches him with a punch.  Kidd goes back in and misses a dropkick intended for Bourne.  Bourne to the top and takes Kidd down with a leg scissor throw.  Kidd retreats to the outside and we go to…

Commercial.

We’re back and Kidd is in control. Bourne fights back with a roundhouse kick to the head.  Bourne with chops in the corner.  He throws Kidd to the opposite corner and Kidd moves away as Bourne follows in.  Bourne jumps on the turnbuckle to avoid impact but gets kicked down by Kidd in an awesome chain.  Kidd in control and has Bourne in a chinlock on the mat.  Bourne elbows but Kidd goes for the suplex attempt.  Reversed into a press for a two count.  Kidd immediately back on top with some mat offense.  Now has a chicken wing submission on Bourne.  Bourne runs to the corner and Kidd hits his head on the top turnbuckle. Bourne goes for the inziguri but countered into a backbreaker.  Cover for two.  Snap suplex from Kidd and a cover for two.  Kidd gets him in a chinlock/camel clutch hybrid.  Bourne up again and kicks his way out.  Knee to the face from Bourne.  Kidd up first but runs into more kicks.  Kidd misses a clothesline and Bourne jumps from the top and kicks the back of Kidd’s neck.  Cover for two.  Kidd goes for a kick of  his own but misses.  More kicking offense from Bourne.  Bourne goes for clothesline but gets body dropped to the apron.  Ref is distracted and Natalya tries to pull Bourne down but doesn’t get the job done.  They redo the spot.  Kidd to the outside throws Bourne in.  He goes to the top rope and FINLAY runs down the ramp!  Natalya runs in the ring to get away from him and the ref is distracted by her entrance.  Finlay hits Kidd on the top rope with his shillelagh.  Bourne goes to the top and hits the shooting star press. 1,2,3!

Winner: Evan Bourne Great match to start thing tonight.  I expect to see bigger and better things from these two in the months and years to come.

We recap last week’s Swagger interference in the Christian/Tommy Dreamer match.  We’ll hear from him next.

Commercial break.

Josh Matthews is in the ring and introduces the “All-American American” Jack Swagger.  He heads to the ring in a new tan suit.  He looks huge compared to Matthews.  Matthews says Swagger ruined the main event last week and we want to know why.  Swagger says it was justice.  It wasn’t right that someone got a title fight before he did.  Matthews asks why that matters.  Swagger says it matters to him.  He’s added prestige to the ECW championship and Christian cheated his way to the belt.  Christian cheated and that’s not fair.  Then he doesn’t give the first title defense to the “Neverwas never will be” Tommy Dreamer.  Dreamer is the fat and cholesterol of the ECW, not the face of ECW.  In 5 weeks we’ll  be rid of Dreamer forever.  He’s glad he ruined Dreamer’s chances.  Tommy Dreamer runs to the ring and punches Swagger a bunch.  Swagger bails and yells that Dreamer ruined his jacket.  I love the whiny heel role.

In the back Tiffany welcomes Zack Ryder.  She tells him he’ll be on Superstars this week to fight Finlay.  Ryder is worried Finlay will ruin his superduper haircut.

Video package of Vladimir Kozlov brings memories of Rocky IV.  He is speaking JibRussian again.  Apparently, he’s next.

Commercial.

Here comes the aforementioned Kozlov.  He heads to the ring to squash someone I’m sure.  His opponent is a local named Jesse Guillmette.

Vladimir Kozlov vs. Jesse Guillmette

Kozlov throws the guy around a bit.  Gets an armbar, twists it and throws him over his back.  Jesse tries to fight back but gets thrown down.  Headbutts to the chest.  Overhead suplex.  Throws him to the ropes and headbutts him down again.  Lifts Jesse up and hits his modified choke slam.  1,2,3.

Winner: Vladimir Kozlov

He gets on the mic and we hear more JibRussian.

Raw Rebound recaps the dismantling of Shane McMahon.  Orton missed that steel stair hit on the leg by a mile.

Gregory Helms is in the back with Mark Henry.  He asks if this match tonight is a chance to restate his dominance in ECW.  Henry says he doesn’t need to restate anything.  If he wants something he takes it.  Tonight, Christian is his victim.

Commercial break.

Captain Charisma’s music hits and he heads to the ring.  The peeps are happy.  I can’t wait to watch his rematch with Jack Swagger at Judgment Day.  Here comes Mark Henry.

Christian (c) vs. Mark Henry w/ Tony Atlas (non-title match)

They lock up and Henry throws him down.  Christian looks befuddled.  Henry tries for a lock up but Christian ducks under and punches Henry.  Christian off the ropes, ducks a clothesline but runs into a big boot.  Henry with boring offense.  Christian tries to fight back but gets headbutted down.  Henry drops Christian from up high.  Clubs to the back.  Throws Christian to the corner and he gets both legs up.  Henry back to the corner and runs into a pendulum kick.  Christian goes for a sunset flip from the top but can’t get Henry over.  Henry goes to sit on Christian but Christian moves.   Christian steps on Henry’s back as his neck is draped on the ropes.  Swagger runs in and attacks from behind.  Tommy Dreamer comes in for the save and they double clothesline Swagger to the outside.  Interim GM Tiffany comes out and makes it a tag match!

Result: No Contest

Christian and Tommy Dreamer vs. Jack Swagger and Mark Henry

We’re back and the match is already underway.  Dreamer gets tagged in and Christian drop toe holds Swagger to the mat for an elbow from Dreamer.  Dreamer to the second rope and hits the clothesline.  Cover for two.  Whip to the ropes reversed and Swagger hits the body to body suplex.  Henry tags in.  He stomps on Dreamer.  Big right hand.  Headbutt.  He wrenches Dreamer’s next.  Dreamer tries to fight out but gets thrown to the ground.  Henry steps on him.  He tags Swagger in and they double team.  Front face lock submission from Swagger.  Dreamer tries to fight his way to Christian but Swagger rolls him over, keeping the hold.  Dreamer body drops him over.  He goes for the tag and gets it!  Henry also in and Christian punches him and hits clotheslines trying to get him down.  He goes to the second rope and hits the clothesline.  Henry still not down.  Christian off the ropes and Henry picks him up for a slam but Christian counters and takes out the leg.  Christian hits Swagger who is trying to get in.  Henry takes advantage of the distraction and muscles him down.  Henry tags in Swagger.  Swagger hits his splash.  Stomps.  He gets Christian in the face lock.  Christian tries to headbutt his way out.  Swagger pushes him to his corner and tags in Henry.  Henry with the neck wrench.  He throws Christian down and covers for two.  Swagger back in and hits two elbows.  Cover for two.  To the corner and Christian fights his way out.  Swagger lifts him up but Christian tries for the sunset flip.  Swagger catches him and THROWS him to the corner.  Christian up the ropes and hits Swagger!  Both men down.  Swagger goes back to the submission.  Christian turns him over and hits the reverse shoulder breaker in a spot Swagger looked confused on.  Dreamer tags in and cleans house.  Hits the neckbreaker on Swagger.  To the corner and a bulldog off the ropes.  Cover for two.  Swagger reverses Dreamer to the corner but Dreamer catches him with the elbow.  He drapes Swagger upside down.  Henry goes for a splash on Dreamer but he moves and Henry hits Swagger.  Missile dropkick from Christian off the top hits Henry.  Swagger and Henry are on the outside and Dreamer jumps and hits them both.  Dreamer back in with Swagger. Dreamer goes for the DDT but Swagger reverses and throws Dreamer into the turnbuckles.  Gutwrench powerbomb.  1,2,3.

Winners: Jack Swagger and Mark Henry

That turnbuckle was exposed at some point and then covered by Tony Atlas to “confuse” the ref.  Not a bad match, especially considering it had Henry in it.

Not a great ECW this week but not bad either.  See you all next week.
