One Tree Hill – Episode 6-22 Review

Top Story

We start out this week’s episode on a sad note. Peyton makes a playlist, video and keepsake box for the baby just in case she doesn’t make it through the pregnancy alive. She talks about music, Brooke, her moms and of course Lucas. I can’t help but see this as a bit of a rip-off of the Dawson’sfinale when Jen made a video for her baby when she was dying. Of course, I still teared up.

Lucas catches Peyton making the video and he’s not happy. She wants to get married right away but he refuses to do anything “just in case.” Jamie is spending time with Lucas as he works on the car and goes through Peyton’s keepsake box. Lucas is obviously upset, but realizes how much and how long he loved Peyton. He decides to marry right away.

Brooke has been spying on Sam as she bonds with her real mom. Sam is happy to be getting to know her mom, but Victoria is making sure she is going to stay with Brooke, and naturally, Brooke is pissed with Victoria’s meddling.

Nathan is back in Charleston and he finds out there is an NBA scout there to watch him. He plays great and while his coach told him to be a little selfish with the ball to show off, Nathan wants to play as a team. The scout seems impressed and Nathan waits for the phone to ring.

All the girls get ready for the baby shower. Brooke makes Peyton a dress and reveals she is thinking about making Sam officially her daughter by adopting her. Sam shows up all dressed up. The girls open gifts and Peyton gets emotional. It was a cute scene.

Skillz has a date with Jamie’s teacher Lauren, but one of her students Chuck is stuck at her house and therefore, tags along. They all go minature golfing and go-karting. Skillz isn’t thrilled with the interruption as Chuck turns the date into a disaster. Lauren ends up showing up at his apartment later anyway and makes up for it. Boring if you ask me.

Brooke tells Sam she wants to adopt her and Sam accepts although she still wants to see her real mom. Brooke realizes this and tells her to go spend time with her. Sam ends up leaving, which I found sadder than I thought I would. Brooke breaks down and Victoria offers false comfort. Looks like this is the perfect time for a little Brooke/Julian reunion.

I heard James Lafferty directed this episode and if that’s so, he did a surprisingly good job! While it wasn’t the most exciting script, it did hit some emotional points.

I am super excited for next week’s wedding episode! Not only is Julian back, but he goes after Brooke’s date Nick Lachey. Oh, and we finally get to see a hot Nathan and Haley hookup. It’s going to be good!
