The first estimate for the UFC 97 buyrate is out, and it’s much higher than anyone could have possibly expected: based on trending numbers compiled by Dave Meltzer, it is believed that the show did about 625,000 pay per view buys. That’s an extraordinarily high number for a show that was likely purchased by the general masses for the sole purpose of seeing Chuck Liddell.
Perhaps Dana White will reconsider his decision to have Liddell retire?
