Palhares Out of UFC 101 With Fractured Tibia

News

This is certainly a bummer: rising middleweight prospect Rousimar Palhares has been forced out of his UFC 101 fight with Alessio Sakara with a fractured tibia. Palhares suffered the injury this week and has already undergone surgery to fix the damage done while training; he’ll be unable to train or do much of anything for 60 days.

Palhares is a guy to watch in the middleweight division. His strength and incredible jiu-jitsu prowess will make him a force to be reckoned with, and once his standup is even remotely as good as his ground game, I suspect he’ll be around the top of the division for years to come.
