Ring of Honor on HD Net returns with a big week featuring a number one contender match between Tyler Black and “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson plus much more. Read on to find out what…

The show starts with Mike Hogewood and Dave Prazak throwing things to former RoH champ Nigel McGuinness. He talks about losing the RoH title and summarizes his reign. This was an intense promo, and it gave Nigel some heat.

We go to the back for a second promo from the main event competitors: Tyler Black and Bryan Danielson. They talk about the main event.

Jimmy Jacobs and MsChif vs. Delirious and Daizee Haze

Delirious cuts an awesome promo in his little pre-match interstitial. The girls start things off and actually have a pretty decent technical display. Jimmy proves he is one of the best tag team wrestlers in RoH with his double team work with MsChif. Daizee Haze actually gets the win with a heart punch (awesome move…in someone elses hand) and the Mind Trip snapmare driver. This was short, but a solid TV mixed tag match a staple of televised wrestling.

Winners: Daizee Haze and Delirious via pinfall

We get highlights of Claudio Castagnoli and Brent Albright from three weeks ago to hype their upcoming match. Things like this lead me to believe that RoH is starting to hit their stride with the TV broadcasts.

The American Wolves of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards with Shane Hagadorn vs. Orange Cassidy and Leslie Butterscotch (awesome)

Orange Cassidy has had the crap kicked out of him a few times. One problem with RoH on HDNet is that some of the job guys, Orange Cassidy and Sami Callahan have made more appearances than some of the stars. The Wolves actually toy with Cassidy for quite a while. Leslie Butterscotch (awesome) gets in the ring but eats a couple of double teams and gets pinned. Longer than it maybe should have been, but still it got the point across.

Winners: The American Wolves via pinfall

Kyle Durden tries to interview the Wolves but he gets smacked and Davey Richards and Edwards trash talk Steen and Generico letting us know that “The hunt is on!!” Nice to see a catch phrase in this day and age.

There are more commercials this week on RoH. That could mean that there are more viewers. I hope so.

Ric Flair is in the back with Kyle Durden, they Woo together.

We see some earlier footage of Colt Cabana who gets interupted by Prince Nana.

That’s all before the main event…. Cool?

RoH TV Main Event: Tyler Black vs. “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson
They start with the slow feeling out process, this is going to be one of those slow crescendo matches, which is what Danielson is best at. Danielson proves he is the far superior technical wrestler. Tyler tries to pick his spots, but Danielson just stays ahead. Tyler finally gets his advantage with a flipping dive to the outside. If I hadn’t have watched it earlier, I wouldn’t have noticed the similarities between this match and Dragon vs. El Generico from Proving Ground night 2. Still, not a bad match to mimic. Tyler hits his signature stuff, but while going for the Phoenix Splash, Dragon shoves him into the third freaking row. He follows him out there with a flipping dive. That was Leslie Butterscotch awesome. That ends the match with a double countout. Kind of a cop out finish, but they seem to be going somewhere with these two. This was the best match to date on RoH on HDNet.

Result: Double Countout

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy Final Thoughts: Angles are starting to develop and there is starting to be some show to show continuity. RoH gets better every week, and that is a good thing. Pretty soon they might have a pretty awesome TV show on their hands. Now all they need is some viewers.

I’ll see you next time…
