WWE is hopeful that The Undertaker will be able to return in mid-July. They would like to get him back on TV in time to build up a big match for him at SummerSlam.
Melina had strep throat recently, which is why she was out of action for a while following the draft.
As noted, Vince McMahon is on a mission to make new stars. This is the most dedicated he has been about elevating fresh talent since the ’90s, largely due to the likelihood that older stars like Shawn Michaels are not going to be around for much longer.
The recent discussion about adding a new WWE TV show on Wednesdays is not thought to be leading to anything. When Vince mentioned it as an idea at the recent shareholders’ conference it was more posturing than a genuine desire. The creative and production teams are already stretching to the limit covering the shows WWE already puts on the air.
