Welcome to the EC-Dub!

We open with Jack Swagger in the ring sitting on a chair.  He says that Backlash was bad enough, but Judgment Day was a tragedy.  He’s not leaving until he has justice.  He sits stone-faced as two refs come down the ramp.  They try to reason with him to leave.  He says they can tell blondie that she can tell him herself if she wants him to leave.  Here comes interim GM Tiffany.  She comes all the way to the ring and says she’ll take it from here.  She tells Jack to leave the ring.  Swagger says it’s too bad he’s interrupting her show.  He is not leaving the ring until Tiffany makes things right.  Christian cheated twice to beat him and that’s not fair.  Since she likes to think she’s in charge so she’s responsible.  Tiffany wants to discuss this in her office.  Swagger says he doesn’t have to listen to her.  He’ll be here long after she is gone, Britney Spears.  HA!  Tiffany is just a temp.  Tiffany says she has the power to make sure Swagger never gets an ECW Championship match again.  Go to my office and go right now!  (Sexy).  Swagger reluctantly leaves the ring after giving Tiffany one final stare.  Tiffany apologizes on behalf of ECW.  Tonight will be a great show.  Let’s kick things off with the first match.  ECW Christian heads to the ring!  Swagger is still on the ramp and they stare each other down.  Swagger pushes him off the ramp and Christian lands on his knee, apparently injured.   We go to…

We’re back and Paul Burchill is coming to the ring.  Christian is in the ring already.

Christian (c) vs. Paul Burchill (w/ Katie Lea Burchill)

This match is non-title I assume.  We start and Christian evades Burchill favoring his knee.  Burchill grabs the leg, but Christian takes him down and gets a front face lock.  Burchill fights out and goes for the leg again.  Christian kicks out and drags him down with an arm drag.  Christian has him in an armbar.  To the ropes and Burchill kicks the knee on a dirty break.  Christian evades a clothesline and gets caught in another armbar.  To the corner and Christian gets the dirty break.  Christian goes to the second rope but Burchill kicks him off.  Christian retreats to the outside.  Burchill throws Christian legs first into the steel steps.  Back in the ring and Burchill covers for two.  Burchilll works on the injured knee.  He smashes the knee into the mat.  Knee drop on the knee and a side suplex.  Cover for two.  Christian fights back but misses the dropkick.  Burchill back to work on the leg and a cover for two.  Knee and ankle lock from Burchill.  Christian tries to fight out and eventually gets to the ropes.  Burchill with an uppercut.  He gets Christian in the corner and kicks the knee.  He sets him up and runs to the corner but Christian moves.  He hits the Tornado DDT from the top rope.  Cover for two.  Christian gets up first and hammers on Burchill.  Back body drop.  He hits the neckbreaker and a cover for two.  Burchill reverses an irish whip and Christian goes to the corner.  Burchill with some offense and Christian gets a sunset flip for two.  Christian goes for the Killswitch but Burchill reverses into a nice suplex.  To the corner again and Christian hits his fulcrum kick.  He goes to the top and hits the flying uppercut.  Killswitch!  1,2,3!

Winner: Christian

Not a bad match to open.  Christian sold the injury well.

Josh Matthews is in the ring to interview Christian.  He asks about what happened before the match.  He says Swagger isn’t going to like what Christian has to say.  Swagger lost at Judgment Day and therefore lost his rematch opportunity.  So, he is issuing a challenge to Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Championship!

Coming up is David Hart Smith versus Finlay!

Commercial break.

Swagger and Tiffany are arguing in the back.  Swagger says she can’t really be considering Dreamer vs. Christian.  Tiffany says Swagger needs to take the rest of the night off before his mouth gets him into more trouble.  Swagger says Whatever and walks off.

Zack Ryder heads to the ring wearing a ridiculous outfit and is going to fight Adam Green who is already in the ring.

Zack Ryder vs. Adam Green

Ryder slaps him to start.  Ryder pushes him to the corner and rubs his face with his elbow.  To the ropes and Green drops down only to get elbow dropped.  Ryder slaps him around some.  Whip to the corner and runs into a knee.  Ryder spears him back to the corner and pummels him down.  He says whoo whoo whoo.  Neck vice.  He drapes Green over the second rope and chokes him.  Leg drop from Ryder while Green was standing.  Neat move.  He then hits a sort of falling neckbreaker onto his knee which I assume is his new finisher.  1,2,3.

Winner: Zack Ryder

Squash.  Whoo whoo whoo.

We now recap the beat down of Finlay and the Hart Attack finisher.  All three are in the back and David Hart Smith says last week won’t compare to what he does to Finlay tonight.  Natalya says his father would be proud.  Smith says he should be especially since he is better than Davey Boy Smith ever was.  Cheap heat.

Commercial.

We recap Vladimir Kozlov’s squash of a local last week.  His music hits and he comes out in his military outfit with a mic.  He speaks JibRussian for a bit.  That’s why the Russian army, the greatest fighting force in the world, is why he is the greatest force in ECW.  What?  More nonsense talking.  Thankfully that was short.  I think he was trying to say he was in the Russian army and that training makes him a fighting force.

Gregory Helms is in the back.  He says the title match between Dreamer and Christian is not only on but signed.  It’ll happen on Superstars!  Dreamer comes out to thank Christian for the opportunity and says his time is running out.  He WILL become champion this Thursday.

Commercial break.

We’re  back and it’s time for our main event.  David Hart Smith heads to the ring with Tyson Kidd and Natalya.  Finlay follows soon after.

David Hart Smith (w/ Tyson Kidd and Natalya) vs. Finlay

We start out with a lock up.  The trade advantage until Smith gets him into the corner.  No break and Finlay muscles him to another corner.  Finlay with a headbutt to break it up.  Side headlock from Finlay.  Punches to the head.  Uppercuts from Finlay.  Short clothesline.  Elbows to the head and a stomp on the hand.  Cover for one.  More stomps.  Uppercut.  Knee drop.  Cover for two.  Smith retreats outside.  He drags Finlay down but Finlay kicks Smith down.  Finlay throws him back in the ring but gets caught with an elbow on his way back in.  Uppercuts of his own.  Smith kicks him in the midsection.  Finlay reverses an irish whip into a short clothesline.  Cover for two.  Finlay with an armbar.  Knee to the elbow and a cover for two.  Back to the armbar.  Smith gets his foot on the ropes.  Finlay drags him back and gets the hold again.  Smith back to the ropes.  Finlay drags him back again and hits a few elbow drops and goes right back to the armbar.  Smith to his feet but Finlay drags him down by the tights.  Smith up again and knees his way out of the hold.  Finlay grabs him in a reverse front face lock and converts it to a neckbreaker.  Finlay punches Smith to the outside.  More offense from Finlay.  Smith catches Finlay and does his father’s running power slam onto the floor!  Smith heads back in to the ring and we go to…

Commercial.

Back to the action and Smith has a chinlock on Finlay.  Clubs to the head.  Finlay starts to fight back but Smith gets a knee inl.  Backbreaker from Smith.  Leg drop.  Cover for one.  Knees to the back from Smith.  Gets a camel clutch on him.  Finlay fights to a vertical base and hits the chinbreaker.  Smith takes him down with a running clothesline.  Kicks to the back of the head.  Finlay rolls to the outside.  Smith tries to drag him back in but Finlay gets some elbows and a kick in and crawls in himself.  Smith with a headbutt to the midsection.  Knees to the back and a bear hug from Smith.  He jumps on Finlay.  And again.  Back to a camel clutch.  Forearms to the head.  He gets Finlay in an abdominal stretch.  Finlay fights out and drives Smith to the corner where he pummels on Smith.  Ref backs him up and Finlay runs into a big boot.  Elbow drop from Smith.  Finlay up and fighting back again but gets dragged headfirst into the second turnbuckle.  Cover for two.  Camel clutch again.  Finlay getting up so Smith goes to a rear chinlock.  Takedown from Smith.  Chinlock still applied.  Finlay getting up again and Smith gives him a forearm smash.  He goes for a powerslam but Finlay reverses and throws him shoulderfirst to the post.  Small package for two.  Finlay on fire and pounds on Smith.  He gets Smith up for the Rolling Hills but can’t keep him up.  Throws Smith to the ropes and gets the back body drop.  He clotheslines Smith to the outside.  He rolls Smith back in but gets slapped by Natalya.  Kidd gets involved but Finlay smashes him into the barrier.  Finlay back in and Kidd is following so the ref blocks his entry.  Natalya threw her boot to Smith and Smith hits Finlay with it behind the refs back.  Smith hits a back/side suplex and covers for the win.

Winner: David Hart Smith

Not a bad match but a little boring.  Glad they gave it time, though.  Overall a decent ECW debut for DHS.

See you next week, kids!
