Koscheck vs. Trigg Possible for UFC 103 (Update)

News

Jesse Holland over at MMA Mania reports that Josh Koscheck could be the first opponent for Frank Trigg, who announced this week that he’s returning to the UFC.  The bout could take place at UFC 103, a card which is still without a home. Matt Hughes is also under consideration as a potential opponent for Koscheck, who is still considered to be a major player in the UFC welterweight division despite losing two of his last three fights in the Octagon.

Both of these potential matchups are good ones. A fight with Frank Trigg could serve as a potential springboard for Trigg if he’s able to overcome Koscheck’s wrestling ability, and a bout between Hughes and Koscheck would likely be billed as a semi-main event on any show (excluding the December show, of course).

Updated: Trigg spoke with MMAjunkie telling them the rumors he will be fighting Josh Koscheck are not true.

Trigg has since gone on to publicly dispel the rumors through various postings on his Twitter account.

“Now hear this, now hear this… I know that I have no idea. That is all,” read the first post, followed up one hour later by, “Rumors are not true. I have no knowledge who or when.”

Trigg also stated he is not ruling out a future fight with Koscheck.
