Apparently not content to let THQ bask in the glory that video game mixed martial arts can bring, Electronic Arts today officially announced EA Sports MMA. The title is literally the only thing known about the game, and even that may change before the release date (which hasn’t been announced) hits. The one useful piece of information we got stated that the game is being developed by the same folks who create Madden and Tiger Woods on a yearly basis, so at least we know the game is in good hands.
I strongly suspect that the final game will end up being called Randy Couture MMA 2009 or something of that nature; Couture couldn’t appear in UFC Undisputed 2009 because of his contract with Electronic Arts, which he signed during the year he was on the outs with Zuffa and Dana White.
