The mentions made by Mick Foley and Eric Young on upcoming episodes of Impact about Jeff Jarrett’s father are based on some real-life tensions between Jeff and his dad, Jerry. They have not talked since Jerry embarrassed Jeff by going to WWE and getting them to sign Vladimir Kozlov. The story was put up on WWE.com, complete with pictures of Jerry at WWE’s headquarters, which caused a number of people in TNA to think Jerry was actually negotiating to try and get Jeff a job there. It cost Jeff a lot of internal trust in TNA. Now Jerry never sees his grandchildren and did not even attend Jeff’s wife’s funeral.
