The UFC today made official what we’ve all known for quite some time: feared Croatian striker Mirko Cro Cop is returning to the octagon at UFC 99 against Mustapha Al Turk.
The bout has been rumored for weeks and has been considered a done deal for just as long, but it couldn’t be officially announced until Cro Cop signed the bout agreement. As of last night, Mirko still had not signed the bout agreement, so the company couldn’t announce the fight and promote Cro Cop’s return to the German market. Considering that Zuffa’s first foray into Germany was the impetus for signing Filipovic in the first place, it was imperative that the deal be signed, sealed and delivered before the middle of this week so that the fight could be properly promoted.
German fans, expect an onslaught of print advertising featuring Cro Cop in the coming days and weeks.
