One of the most anticipated Blu-ray releases is finally making its way to the high-definition format later this year: Braveheart, Mel Gibson’s 177-minute Best Picture winner. The biopic follows William Wallace, a Scottish rebel who puts on blue makeup, pulls his pants down, and leads a revolt against King Edward I of England (Patrick McGoohan). Nominated for a total of 10 Academy Awards with 5 wins (including Best Director and Cinematography), Braveheart debuts on Blu-ray on September 1, 2009.
