Paula's Home Cooking- Just Desserts

There can be only one Southern-accented chef on Food Network, and that my friends, is Paula Deen, y’all. The Neelys were just on and I felt the need to stake and claim her territory.

I was never too fond of the old episodes where she had to use a makeshift kitchen outside because they were redoing her kitchen at home… I digress… DESSERTS!

Charlotte Russe: I’m not a big fan of fruit preserves so I’m waiting to see the next dessert.

Did you know: Lady Fingers were created in the 11th century House of Savoy to mark the occasion of a visit from the King of France.

Gooey Toffee Butter Cake: 3 eggs and 2 sticks of butter? My arteries are clogging just watching this! And did fruit really have a place being on that platter of cholesterol? Oh the juxtaposition.

Southwest Georgia Pound Cake: This recipe sounded way too easy, and pretty darn delicious. I’m not a big fan of Pound Cake but I do enjoy it here and there. Those 2 quick recipes for Lemon Curd Pound Cake and Strawberry Shortcake added at the end to jazz up the Pound Cake were a nice touch- simple, varied and creative.
