Further details regarding the death of Mitsuharu Misawa have been revealed. Mike Aldren of the Wrestling Globe Newsletter is reporting that Misawa took the suplex at around 8:45 PM JST. The referee running the match asked Misawa if he could move following the suplex and he responded no. Misawa then lost consciousness a few seconds later. The match was stopped just after the twenty-seven minute mark and Pro Wrestling NOAH officials came into the ring.
A doctor was brought in from the crowd and he tried a heart massage on Misawa. According to Aldren, Misawa had stopped breathing by that point and the massage brought back his pulse. Misawa was rushed to a hospital and officially pronounced dead at 10:10 PM JST.
