For eight seasons Drew Carey and his cohorts dared to go up against the network standards with improv madness. Whose Line Is It Anyway? adapted the English game show featuring four comic actors attempting to outperform each other. Whats the grand prize? The winner reads the end credits. The annoying part of the show was all the bleeping. The Best of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Uncensored finally lets us know what we missed. You really think Kathy Griffin watched her tongue for 21 minutes? Who knew Wayne Brady could be so blue besides Dave Chappelle?

The collection contains ten episodes from seasons two to six. Theyve already released all of season one. The game show format has Drew coming up with challenges for the four guys. He even takes suggestions from the crowd when it comes to various situations. Its like an improv comedy club without the two drink minimum. They bring on special guests to spice up the fun. Florence Henderson gets serenaded to a disco tune that includes the line, “I want to be top banana in your Brady Bunch.” Wayne Brady points out that hes the lost Brady. And theres a Sam the Butcher giving her the meat reference. Richard Simmons, David Hasselhoff and Jerry Springer also appear.

The show didnt get too nasty so dont think that “Uncensored” means that this is a Tarantino film. The comics get naughty, but never completely vulgar. Maybe it might be too much for delicate ears of newborn baby. The joy of rewatching this show is seeing how much the comics wanted to bust each other up and not merely get easy laughs from the audience. The Best of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Uncensored brings us the joy of seeing David Hasselhoff being serenaded by Wayne Brady.

The video is 1.33:1. The show was shot on video so theres no scratches or dust on the screen. The audio is Dolby Digital Surround Stereo. You wont have to worry about that blooper noise working your woofers. The episodes are subtitled in English.

Whose Line Is It Anyway Special (43:58) gives us the highlights from the 1999-2000 season. Once more the blooped moments have been restored to their natural blue glory. Drew Carey is not a striking figure in a tux.

The Best of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Uncensored gives a new light to the show. We finally get to feel how naughty four people will go for the chance to read credits. They frantic nature of the show keeps it fun to watch after all these years. Although it is shocking to see Kathy Griffin with her old body.
