Candice Michelle posted a blog entry on the WWE Universe website after her release. She thanked the company executives, past and present Divas and some male wrestlers (in particular John Cena) for helping her during her five-year run with the company. The blog was taken down although she did not say anything negative about WWE in it.
Paul Heyman commented on C.M. Punk’s latest WWE push in his latest column with The Sun. Heyman was instrumental in pushing Punk whilst in OVW and during Punk’s initial stint in the relaunched ECW brand. WWE management subsequently saw Punk as a “Heyman project”, which hurt him after Heyman left the company. Punk has since overcome that stigma, however, with Heyman noting that “The C.M. Punk character is ‘in play,’ and WWE is offering its audience the opportunity to come along for the ride and have an emotional investment in a genuinely interesting character.”
