More on Sting’s Contract, Punk’s Heel Turn

News

Sting is once again considering retirement once his TNA contract expires. His current deal is up at the end of the year and there is talk of making Bound For Glory into a send-off show for him. This has happened more or less every year since he joined the promotion. Despite now being 50 the chances are good that Dixie Carter will offer him another good deal and talk him into signing another year-long deal, especially since the new Impact schedule means all the TV for a month is taped in a four-day period. His son Garrett will be playing college football this year for Azusa Pacific, an NAIA school in California, yet those games are on Saturdays so Sting’s TNA schedule would not conflict with them.

The current WWE plan regarding C.M. Punk is that they will continue to book him as a face but if enough people boo him against Jeff Hardy then they will turn him heel. The company is not fully committed to turning him, although he has been getting mixed reactions of late.
