Dragon Gate has announced, via faq on their website, that they will make their PPV debut on September 4th. The FAQ also lays out the following information:
DGUSA’s PPV taping plans- They plan on taping at at least their first two shows.
The difference in format between PPVs and DVDs- The DVDs will be “high octane” 2 hour versions of the shows that will include extras like videos and interviews. The DVDs will be a better representation the live events (which will be longer than two hours) and also have extras, including matches. That’s why the PPV and DVD have different titles (Enter the Dragon and Open the Historic Gate, respectively.)
How will the PPVs will effect DVD releases?- The DVDs will be released a month after the PPVs.
Oh, and why are you doing PPV in the first place?- 60 Million potential viewers! Also, it gives them a chance to stand out from the competition.
