Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers Go Back To Camp Rock

The stars of Camp Rock are reuniting for a sequel, but they’ll have some new counselors behind the camera.

The Disney Channel has signed Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, a sequel to the channel’s hit movie from last year. The sequel is scheduled to begin filming later this summer and premiere next year, Disney says.

Paul Hoen (“Jump In) will direct the movie, taking over from Matthew Diamond. Dan Berendsen (Hannah Montana: The Movie) is writing the script with Karin Gist and Regina Hicks, who also co-wrote the first Camp Rock movie.

Camp Rock 2 will find Mitchie (Lovato) and Shane, Jason and Nate (Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas) returning to Camp Rock for another summer, only to find that several campers and instructors have defected to the rival Camp Star. Hip-hop artist Matthew “Mdot” Finley will play the top singer at Camp Star who challenges the Camp Rockers to a musical showdown.

The movie will also have star-crossed romance, as Nate falls for the daughter (Chloe Bridges) of Camp Star’s owner.

Alyson Stoner, Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera and Daniel Fathers will reprise their roles from the first movie.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
