Piper Perabo Having Affairs; ABC Signs Unusuals Creator

News

Piper Perabo is going undercover with USA.

The cable network has cast Perabo (Because I Said So, Coyote Ugly) in the lead of its pilot Covert Affairs. She would play a CIA trainee who speaks multiple languages and is generally good at anything she tries, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show is also in the process of casting her partner, a blind man who’s a tech expert.

Covert Affairs comes from writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord (Deck the Halls) and will focus both on the lead character’s work and her personal life — in particular an ex-boyfriend who is of great interest to her new bosses.

If the show gets picked up, it would be Perabo’s first regular TV work. She’s guested on House and Law & Order: Criminal Intent and starred in ABC’s pilot The Prince of Motor City last year.

The Unusuals won’t be back at ABC, but the show’s creator is getting another shot at the network’s sister studio.

Noah Hawley has signed a deal with ABC Studios to work on two new projects, the HR says. He hasn’t started yet, but he tells the paper he’d like to do more of what he did on The Unusuals, mixing drama and comedy and telling multiple, overlapping stories.

Hawley has also worked as a writer and producer on Bones and has written three novels.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
