Rocky Carroll will become a crossover star next season — at least in the world of NCIS.
Carroll, who plays NCIS Director Leon Vance on the hit CBS show, will also appear on its spinoff, NCIS: Los Angeles, this season. CBS says he’ll remain a regular on the original show while popping up in a recurring part on Los Angeles, with Vance overseeing both teams.
“Rocky Carroll is an essential and beloved part of the NCIS team as Director Leon Vance,” says Shane Brennan, who executive produces both shows. “The extension of his character is a natural addition to NCIS: Los Angeles.”
Carroll first appeared on NCIS in May 2008 as the assistant director of the agency. Vance and Carroll were both promoted at the start of last season, the character to director of the agency and Carroll to cast regular.
NCIS: Los Angeles, which launched as part of an NCIS two-parter in May, stars LL Cool J, Chris O’Donnell, Daniela Ruah and Peter Cambor as members of the agency’s Office of Special Projects specializing in undercover and surveillance work. The show recently added Adam Jamal Craig to its cast as another member of the team.
