Here’s an interesting note: both Bodog and Sportsbook.com have listed Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor Emelianenko as a future event, with a date of December 31st. Obviously the fight isn’t happening on that date, but there’s a small percentage of a chance that it could happen on January 2nd at The Ultimate 2009. And by “small percentage of a chance”, of course, I mean “a fraction of a percentage of a chance” that it could happen.
Here’s the current odds:
Fedor Emelianenko: -240
Brock Lesnar: +190
Those odds are awfully close, especially when you consider that Josh Barnett is a much, much bigger underdog against Fedor than Lesnar. I think most people in the world with half a brain realize at this point that Lesnar, not Barnett, is the number two heavyweight in the world and these odds reflect that.
