A fun piece of speculation we tossed out a few days ago could indeed be a reality: Tito Ortiz told Tapout Radio today that he’s made amends with Dana White, the Fertittas and the UFC, and rumors are circulating within the mixed martial arts community that Ortiz will indeed return at UFC 103 to face Rich Franklin.
I’d take anything Tito says with a grain of salt, but there are people outside of the Ortiz camp claiming the same thing. It’ll be interesting to see how everything shakes out, but an Ortiz vs. Franklin match would be far more interesting than the assumed Franklin vs. Luis Cane fight.
UPDATE: Dana White confirms that he and Ortiz have buried the hatchet. “Yes, Tito and I made up,” White said via Twitter. “Doesn’t mean he’s back – it’s just means we aren’t smashing each other and we don’t hate each other.”
