A Modest Blog on giving up on Raw

Columns, Features

Raw needs help badly. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t think a performer can change it- I really like several guys on the roster. Jack Swagger is a future superstar. Chris Jericho is currently the best in the business. MVP can carry a mid-card feud on promos, Santino is hilarious, and Kofi Kingston is the new RVD. Evan Bourne is Matt Sydal of ROH and actually gets time. The show still absolutely sucks.

It’s not that the talent isn’t there, it’s that they aren’t allowed to build anything good. No one outside of the main event gets enough time to make their feud memorable. Everyone in the main event is involved in the same stories they have been with the same guys they have been for years. They had a chance to switch things up with the draft- they failed. They could have done it with Trump, but it just got worse. Now celebrity guests eat the time the mid-card needs to grow and make for an entertaining show while the main event do promos I didn’t care about the first time these feuds occurred and surely don’t now. At this point, as much as I hate to say it, I give up on Monday Night Raw until there is a major creative change.
