According to Yahoo!, Affliction and UFC have reached an agreement that will see Affliction stop promoting MMA events and its clothing division once again being a sponsor of the UFC. There is as yet no word about what this agreement means for fighters contracted to Affliction. We should see a statement from UFC and Affliction sometime today that will hopefully clarify the situation.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Affliction offered the UFC this deal on July 13th i.e. before Barnett’s drug test failure. Both Yahoo! and Wrestling Observer are reporting that this agreement was finalized after a last-ditch attempt to merge Affliction with Strikeforce.
