Jeff Hardy’s WWE contract is up at the end of July and he is not booked on any house shows for August. People in the company believe that is going to leave very soon, although those close to him expect that he will agree to work SummerSlam as his final show. John Morrison is getting his spot as C.M. Punk’s main opponent, with Dolph Ziggler also getting a major push as he has been winning over people backstage with his work. Hardy is getting some praise for willingly putting Punk over at the house shows every night, working hard and putting on quality main event performances on the way out.
It is still too early to tell when Edge may return but it is believed to be between six and nine months. The current plan is to have him return as a babyface to challenge Chris Jericho for WrestleMania 26 but that plan is likely to change numerous times between now and then.
