FX Gives The Green Light To New Animated Series From One Creator of Adult Swim's Frisky Dingo>

FX is going with a new animated series called Archer from one of the creators of Adult Swim’s Frisky Dingo, Adam Reed. There’s a good chance that Archer will at least get a trial run alongside It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Archer centers on superspy Sterling Archer (voiced by Jon Benjamin of Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist), who’s got some issues at his work place, international espionage agency ISIS. His codename is “Duchess”; his overbearing mom (Jessica Walter of 90210 fame) is also his boss; his ex-girlfriend (Aisha Tyler) still works with him and is dating the agency comptroller (Chris Parnell). Oh, and his mom’s secretary (Judy Greer) has a crush on him.

“This project has been a great surprise for us, and we’re excited about adding it to our fall schedule,” says Nick Grad, head of original programming at FX. “Adam Reed has written successful animated series for Adult Swim/Cartoon Network, and he has taken this format and given it a live-action feel. … It clearly fits the FX brand and we believe it will find support from the fans of ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'”

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
