Up until at least Sunday afternoon the plan was for Dolph Ziggler to win the Intercontinental Title from Rey Mysterio at Night of Champions. It appears as though WWE decided to hold off on the title switch for fear of doing it too soon, which is a big wad of irony right there.
A heel turn for Gail Kim has been discussed amongst the WWE writers. There appeared to be some teases in that direction during the six-woman tag match on Raw last night.
