For director David Cronenberg’s next project, he is teaming up with Portuguese producer Paulo Branco to do a Big Screen adaptaion of Don DeLillo’s 2003 novel Cosmopolis.
Cronenberg will write the adaptation as well as direct.
Cosmopolis follows a 28-year-old multimillionaire on a 24-hour odyssey across Manhattan. DeLillo’s is considered by many as one of America’s leading novelists. DeLillo, who was first published in 1971, has written 15 books.
Shooting is set to begin in 2010 in Toronto and New York.
Cronenberg’s recent films include A History Of Violence and Eastern Promises. He also has The Matarese Circle on his development plate.
