Entourage – Episode 6- 4 Review

Top Story

Running on E. That is the title of the fourth episode of Entourage this season; however, the story lines are far from E (empty).  It’s hard to pick a starting point in where to start first. Special guest this week is David Schwimmer from Friends. Lloyd seems to be doing well on his weight loss plan to get in to agency. Andrew Klein fails many times during this episode, etc.

Andrew Klien continues to be a cancer to the Miller-Gold Agency in many ways. He keeps talking about signing big people, but he can’t get over his little “junior-agent” Lizzy.  Because Ari and Andrew were such good friends, Ari tried to persuade his wife and Andrew’s wife to become great friends.  Now that Andrew is having an affair with Lizzy from work, it makes it awkward for Ari to keep covering for Andrew.  Andrew decides to end the affair and tries to move on; however, after a flirtatious meeting between Schwimmer and Lizzy, Andrew tries to break the two up. He ends up having an emotional-meltdown, and Ari gives him advice. He takes this advice the wrong way, and leaves his wife.

That was just one of the many plot lines in the 30 minute episode.

Eric “E” Murphy, clearly the main character of the entire Entourage series, struggles with trying to find work for him to complete.  Nothing is discussed about Charlie (Bow Wow) and his failing to get the spot on the TV show. Charlie, E’s only other client now seems to have disappeared at least for the time being. E uses his office for one thing, and that is to do the deed with Ashley.  He announces that he is closing the Murphy Group, to which Johnny Drama jokes, that there was not much of a “group” to begin with.

Turtle struggles with being whipped in to shape by girlfriend, Jamie Lynn. She has bought him a car, helping motivate him to go to school, and is buying him clothes.  His new wardrobe consists of argyle sweaters, ties, button downs, and other various “dressy” accessories. Turtle looks professional, and I think is finally finding a niche in life. It was good to see Turtle return to his old form, when Jamie Lynn says she would buy his clothes. He refused and presented his own money–rather money from Vince.

Vince is doing fine. He seems to be a bit of a loner in this season, which is an opening for the writers to write in a story about substance abuse. Many think that this will happen, but I do not, I don’t see Vince as an abuser.  This episode he finds “Facebook.”  Vince tries to get his entourage to join him on his break (Enzo Ferrari, the movie, was pushed back about one year).  Turtle is busy with school; Drama is busy with his sitcom. E is busy with–well, E is busy with his new flame.

Johnny Drama finally gets a plot line for the first time this season. He is asked to find a “love interest.” This turns out to be more of a buffet of make-out sessions with models. He complains at the end and says he wants a real actress for this part. He pleads and says that none of these girls were any good. This is a typical Johnny Drama moment.

Johnny asks Turtle to allow Jamie Lynn to be his love interest on the show, after much time, Turtle gives in.  Finally we see the interaction between Turtle and Drama again. These two always seem to work great together, but with Johnny being busy, and Turtle having a girlfriend, it tends to make things tough to blend the two characters.

Ari seems to be in the middle of conflict once again. I can see in future episodes that Andrew Klein will be bought out of his share, and basically out of the business.  I can see the timing to be just perfect enough that possibly, Lloyd could jump in this position at this point.

Something I’d like to see would be a party. I’d like to see the old-then new-then old relationship-type E with his new girl, Ashley, and Turtle at a party without “begging” (if you know what I mean).  I feel that we would see more interaction with brothers Johnny Drama and Vince.  We rarely see interaction between the two brothers because of their distinctly different personalities.

The good news we hear this week, is that Entourage will be back for sure in 2010 with season 7.  HBO gave the green light this week.
