Dan Rafael of ESPN.com has reported that Kelly Pavlik will defend his middleweight titles against Paul Williams on October 3 in Atlantic City, NJ. The fight will be on HBO.
A news conference is scheduled for next Tuesday in New York to formally announce the fight.
This is an interesting matchup. With Arthur Abraham locked into the super middleweight tournament, Paul Williams is the next best choice for Kelly Pavlik and his middleweight titles. The negotiations for this fight were off and on but I’m glad to see the fight is being finalized.
