Thanks to this week’s <a href=http://wrestling.insidepulse.com/2009/08/12/for-your-consideration%e2%80%a6hopefully-not-extremely-crappy-wrestling/ target=newECW, I owe WWE an apology. I had William Regal number four on my Underutilized Wrestlers List. On ECW, William Regal was announced as the new number 1 contender for Christian’s ECW title.
This isn’t the perfect usage of Regal long term. He has a wealth of skill that could be used to teach the new generation, the guys just brought up from FCW. Tyler Reks, for example, is FCW champion, which means he has some skill and feuding with Regal might let him show that. This is, however, the single best program he could be in currently. Both he and Christian are excellent wrestlers and interviews, probably the two best guys on the show. Their feud should lead to great matches and memorable promos. In terms of building for WWE’s future? Not the best, but it will get me to tune into ECW next week.
