Gormley vs. Struve added to UFC 104

News

Inside Fights has confirmed an original Fighters Only report that Stephan Struve (17-3) has agreed in principle to face Chase Gormley at UFC 104 in October.

Gormley was originally scheduled to fight Ben Rothwell at the Affliction show earlier this summer, but the bout was moved to UFC 104 after Affliction folded. Rothwell, however, stepped in to replace new top heavyweight contender Shane Carwin against Cain Velasquez, so an opponent was needed to face Gormley.

I understand if you’re confused.

Stephan Struve is an impossibly skinny heavyweight, a 6’11” Dutch fighter with a 1-1 record in the UFC. His debut at UFC 95 came against Junior dos Santos, who promptly sent the rail-thin Struve packing with a first round TKO.
