How Bruce Lee Changed The World – DVD Review

How-Bruce-Lee

Bruce Lee was many things to many people. And as the old saying goes, the flame that burns twice as bright burns twice as fast. He may have left us too soon, but there is no denying the influence he left behind.

As a retelling of Bruce Lee’s life, this documentary is a little dull. It serves as a sort of Bruce Lee 101 for anyone who doesn’t know anything about him or hasn’t seen Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. And between the two, Dragon is much more interesting and engaging.

What this documentary does offer is a look at the influence Bruce Lee had on some modern day filmmakers, musicians and others. There are interviews with the likes of RZA, LL Cool J, Brett Ratner, Stan Lee and others. These people talk about how Bruce Lee influenced their lives and the work they do. All of this is kind of interesting.

Sadly, there really isn’t much else to day about this DVD. Bruce Lee was a dynamic and memorable man who will continue to influence others for decades to come. The same cannot be said for the somewhat dull documentary about him.

The show is presented in a varying widescreen format and sound is in 2.0 Dolby sound. It’s looks and sounds fine, but that doesn’t improve the over all presentation at all.

Need To Know: Bruce Lee: (4 min.) A short abbreviated retelling of his life that is completely redundant and pointless.

If you know anything at all about Bruce Lee, then this documentary will offer nothing new or interesting. Hearing others talk about him is okay, but by no means is this worth owning.
