Paramount Home Entertainment has announced plans to release It’s a Wonderful Life as a two-disc Blu-ray. The company is also unveiling a new collectible DVD Gift Set of Frank Capra’s classic film. Both arrive in stores on November 3rd. Pricing is set at $29.99 for the DVD Gift Set and $39.99 for the Blu-ray release.
The DVD Gift Set will come packaged in a striking shadow box and includes a two-disc Collector’s Edition DVD with a beautifully colorized version of the film and the original, fully restored black-and-white movie, as well as the special features “The Making Of It’s A Wonderful Life”, a documentary featurette hosted by Tom Bosley; “A Personal Remembrance”, a special tribute to Frank Capra narrated by his son Frank Capra Jr.; and the original theatrical trailer. The set also includes a special bell ornament.
The Blu-ray release will be presented in 1080p high definition* with English Mono, French Mono and Spanish Mono and English, English SDH, French, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles. The two-disc Blu-ray includes the colorized and black-and-white versions of the film, as well as “The Making Of It’s A Wonderful Life” documentary and the original theatrical trailer.
