A previously rumored lightweight battle between Sam Stout and Philippe Nover is now official for UFC Fight Night 19. The bout will take place on the preliminary card.
The Sept. 16 card, which features a main event between Nate Diaz and Melvin Guillard, has a total of eleven fights. The fight is a must-win situation for Nover, who would likely be cut with another loss in the organization. Nover was billed as “the lightweight Anderson Silva” by Dana White during the Ultimate Fighter 8 season, but hasn’t been able to come away with a win since losing to Efrain Escudero in the lightweight finals of the show.
