Strikeforce promoter Scott Coker today announced that Brett Rogers will get the first shot at dethroning top heavyweight and recent Strikeforce signee Fedor Emelianenko.
Many believed Rogers would get the first shot at Emelianenko. Coker wants to build Emelianenko for a potential pay per view fight with Alistair Overeem, and it’s believed that Rogers and Fabricio Werdum will be the first two fighters to take a crack at the man believed by many to be the best heavyweight in the world.
Show details will be announced soon, but Inside Fights has confirmed that Nov. 14 is the targeted date for the fight.
