John Ruiz will not go away. He will, however, step aside.
John Ruiz agreed to postpone his mandatory WBA title shot with Nikolai Valuev. This will allow the fight between Valuev and David Haye to go on as planned on November 7.
When reports surfaced last month about a fight between WBA Heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev and David Haye, Ruiz became irate and planned to stop the fight from happening. Ruiz is the mandatory challenger for the WBA title.
The legal paperwork is still being drawn up but any money spent to keep John Ruiz out of the ring is a sound investment.
