A lightweight tilt between Kenny Florian and Clay Guida is all but done for UFC 106. Ariel Helwani at MMA Fanhouse first reported the news of the bout, and Inside Fights has confirmed that bout agreements should be signed next week.
Florian’s most recent outing saw him lose to a dominant B.J. Penn in a lightweight championship battle at UFC 101, while Guida went down to new #1 contender Diego Sanchez.
UFC 106 is shaping up to be one of the most impressive cards of the year. The main event will see Brock Lesnar defend his heavyweight championship against Shane Carwin, and Tito Ortiz will also make his return to the UFC against Mark Coleman in the co-feature of the night.
