WWE May Have Interest in Other ROH Stars

News, Top Story

According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com, WWE’s interest in Ring of Honor talent doesn’t end with the news that Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness are on their way to the company.

Johnson is reporting that WWE has at least had mild interest in three other names, and that the creative team has been told to scout ROH’s Monday night TV show. Last week, Bryan Alvarez wrote in Figure 4 Weekly that some WWE wrestlers are definitely watching every week, and according to his sources, the feeling is that WWE is not making a concerted effort at a “talent raid” and ROH doesn’t even consider itself competition to WWE. Alvarez also wrote that one of his sources said WWE will not go after anyone while they are currently under contract elsewhere in the U.S.

As for Danielson, Johnson says that WWE has been interested in him for a while, and at one point was planning on pairing him up as Brian Kendrick’s new tag team partner during that storyline on Raw (prior to Kendrick’s release of course).

Johnson also says that TNA had shown interest in McGuinness prior to the announcement he was headed to WWE. For more details click on the above link.
