The following news items were posted in the September 8th edition of the ROH Newswire:

Due to the impending departures of ROH mainstays Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness, there’s been a change to the card for Glory By Honor VIII, on September 26th in New York City.  Danielson and McGuinness will now face each other that night, for the last time in ROH.  This will be the rubber match of their series, currently tied at 3-3-2.  ROH has issued a press release on the card change.  Previously, Danielson was scheduled to face Austin Aries for the ROH World Title, but that was prior to the announcement of McGuinness’ agreement-in-principle with WWE.

Speaking of Glory By Honor VIII, the event officially sold out as of Tuesday afternoon.  Tickets are still available for the remaining dates of the “Final Countdown” Tour:  September 10th and 11th in Philadelphia, September 18th in Dayton, September 19th in Chicago, and September 25th in Boston.

Because of the addition of Danielson vs. McGuinness to Glory By Honor VIII, the card for the previous night has also been changed.  Roderick Strong and McGuinness, rather than wrestling in NYC as originally scheduled, will now face each other in Boston.

ROH and Pro Wrestling Noah have reached agreement on the participation of GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion KENTA for ROH’s live events on November 13th (Detroit, MI) and 14th (Mississauga, ON).  Tickets for those events are now on sale.

Tyler Black underwent minor surgery a few weeks ago to relieve pressure in his neck.  However, Black’s recovery has not gone as planned, and as a result, Black will be unable to wrestle in this weekend’s ROH on HDNet television tapings.  Colt Cabana will replace Black in Thursday night’s bout with McGuinness.  Friday’s replacement for Black’s match with Kenny King has yet to be determined.  Even though he’ll be out of action, Black will still be on hand for those events.  Black is currently listed as “questionable” for the events in Dayton and Chicago.

Since Cabana will replace Black and wrestle McGuinness on September 10th, the Cabana vs. Rhett Titus match originally scheduled for that date will now take place at Glory By Honor VIII.  The night before, in Boston, Kenny Omega and Cabana will take on Austin Aries and Titus.

A Four Corner Survival match has been signed for Chicago between “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown, Silas Young, Sal Rinauro, and “Sugarfoot” Alex Payne.
