Alan Belcher and Wilson Gouveia will meet in a middleweight bout at UFC 107. MMAWeekly.com was the first to break the news, and Inside Fights has confirmed with sources close to both parties that verbal agreements are in place. Bout agreements will be distributed in the coming weeks.
Gouveia and Belcher are rising contenders in the middleweight division.
Belcher’s last bout saw him lose a close decision to the debuting Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 100. It was a fight that many believe Belcher won, but the judges awarded the decision to Akiyama. Gouveia’s last outing in the octagon saw him lose via third-round TKO to Nate Marquardt.
UFC 107 takes place Dec. 12 in Memphis.
