Werdum accuses Overeem of taking steroids, avoiding fights

I’m not sure when Fabricio Werdum decided to become a gigantic trash talker. We saw it begin shortly before his UFC departure, when he complained vocally about Brock Lesnar getting a title shot before he did.

Werdum turned his rapier wit towards Alistair Overem during a recent interview with MMA Weekly:

“I cannot be 100-percent right about the reason he is taking so long to solve his issues and come to fight, but it seems either that the gummy berry juice he is taking to give him super powers is (causing) him to avoid fighting here in America or he is afraid of having no arms to fight after facing me one more time.”

By “gummy bear juice,” of course, Werdum is referring to whatever bodybuilding supplements Overeem may have ingested in order to make his startling physical transformation.

Werdum submitted Overeem during a PRIDE bout in 2006, and he’d love the chance to do it again.

“I want to say to him that if comes, face me and lose,” Werdum stated. “I will let him take some pictures with my belt and he will be able to keep good memories from his time as a Strikeforce champion.”
