10 Thoughts on SmackDown – 09.11.09

Reviews, Shows, TV Shows

1. It’s rare that WWE gives Undertaker the chance to cut an in ring promo anymore, and while it’s understandable with his gimmick it does make the promo’s he does cut that little bit more special. Furthermore, if CM Punk and The Undertaker are given more back and forth opportunities, then we could be provided with some truly entertaining segments.

2. So despite the fact that Mike Knox seems to be getting a push recently with his mad doctor gimmick, he still gets beaten in a Belfast brawl (or rather a no disqualification match with a special name). Way to go with that push Knox, you’re going to go far.

3. The Michelle McCool segment backstage was just horrible, and I’m terrified to think of where its going to lead. I’d hate to see Dolph Ziggler be involved in a trainwreck storyline involving Michelle McCool.

4. There was one good thing about Kane attacking Great Khali – at least we didn’t have to suffer through David Hart Smith getting squashed by the Great Khali.

5. Why in the world are we seeing yet another Chris Jericho/Big Show vs. Cryme Time match? I’ve already made my argument against them repeating this match; I’m not doing it again.

6. The term ‘change the face’ gets used far too often in pretty much everything. None the less I look forward to seeing what this surprise will be, and then mocking the fact that it did nothing like ‘change the face of SmackDown’.

7. A nice match between John Morrison and Charlie Haas, but the real highlight was the back and forth between John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler. These two have it in them to have a really good feud and honestly, who doesn’t want to hear more about ‘Mr. Ziggles’?

8. SmackDown hasn’t got the strongest Diva’s division right now, evident by the constant lacklustre Diva’s matches being the downpoint each week. Something really needs to be done about it, because there should never be something worse on the card than Kane vs. Khali.

9. Eventually we’re going to need an actual match between Drew McIntyre and R-Truth. Hopefully it will be just as entertaining as it has been watching McIntyre kick the holy hell out of R-Truth every week.

10. Damn, Matt Hardy’s in the main event again. It’s like my dreams have been answered and Matt is finally getting the push he deserves. He may not be championship calibre, but as long as Matt Hardy gets consistent ring times then I will not complain.
